City Wide Yardsale

Okay this is a terribly ugly yellow and I hate the heart cutout but it will be great once refinished. I will post pics. it needs to be sanded soon!!!

I think I have the top on backwards but not sure yet. Already started sanding. The back piece slides up and becomes the table top. This is going in the game room. I was going to refinish it for the store but it got claimed.

I don't even know if I will do anything to this. It is so old and cool. I should of taken a picture from the sides, it looks like someone made it in their barn.

Okay this old trunk has been claimed as well. My son is now using it for a coffee table in his room. I just cleaned it up and stained it inside. He liked it just the way it is. It has a nice old finish to it.

Love all the advertisements and recipes and such in these old papers

The little table has already been sanded and painted. Just need to prim it up and i will take a picture of it again.

Love this old sled

I like the enamelware. White ironstone dishes inside. They are going to be in my kitchen soon. I forgot about them until just now. I got a halloween jello mold to use for beeswax bowl fillers. The old suit case I love these. I have them in the spare rooms to store different stuff like linens.

How cute is this old folding chair. It is child size.
Our local towns and cities, and I use the word city very very loosely,  They have a grocery store and no dept stores lol. Anyway every year on different weekends the whole town will have a city/town wide yardsale. It is really fun and there are always so many to go to. This year my friends and I did one, and all the proceeds were for Relay for Life. On Friday I went over to my friends house with the plan being we were going to set up for the sale and price things. I get there and she wants to hit a few of the sales that were opening early. Well about 6 hours later, and two pick up loads of stuff we finally made it back to her house to set up for the sale. I got all this stuff for less than forty dollars. I got a bunch of small things too but as you can see my front porch is so full it is hard to take pics, much less get to it all.
The next one is on the 4th in another town. I can't wait.
Oh and I got two old ironing boards at the land fill too.
here is one of them. the other one is all wood. And those two little shelves on the rocking chair in the background as well. Yikes my porch was seriously a mess there for a couple of days.

A Pinkeep Swap

I did a Pin keep swap held by Ravenwoods Whimsies. I swapped with Amy at Bumble Bee Lane. It came today and it is really adorable. She also send these awesome smelling wax tarts. the little fellow is so cute I would feel bad sticking pins in him. I might just have to pretend he is one but not use him for one.

These are my latest land fill finds. I don't know if you have landfills but ours has several location where we drop different things. Cardboard, containers, wood pile, metal pile, and then of course the place where you throw your actual trash. They won't let us take stuff from the metal pile because they sell that. You aren't suppose to take anything from the wood pile but if you sign a paper you can. They always have huge piles of mulch out there as well.
the little table I am putting in garden. I think I might paint it white first. I have an old chair out there by the garden shed and I want this with it. I might paint it white though. I want to put a board where the drawer use to be.

The old headboard. who knows, it is awesome though.

Banister rails and they looked just this way. I love these things, I just don't know what i am doing with them yet.
Oh I forgot to take some pics of the birdfeeders and birdhouse, I will later I guess.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

What I learned today

I learned that no matter how long your chicken sets in the pan, and no matter how long you run the oven, if you don't put the pan IN the oven it will not cook. Supper may be late.
I also learned that if the bottle/container of glue says permanent, that is exactly what it means. However if you have ever tried Gator sandpaper you know that permanent can become not so perm. lol
I learned that if a bunch of friends get together to have a yard sale to get rid of stuff you don't use anymore, it defeats the purpose if you bring all your friend's stuff home with you. I didn't but was so tempted.
I learned that if you are at the landfill and some CRAZY person threw away their old banister rails and prim birdfeeders and birdhouses, you should bring them home. Even if your son sets in the truck and moves to the driver seat, threatening to leave you. You are still the parent and can still ground them. 20 years old doesn't mean anything.
Very educational day.

What I learned today

I learned that if you mix up a batch of staining solution (Walnut Ink crystals and water) you shouldn't mix it in an empty Simple Green bottle.
OOPS!!!
My husband just found my solution (which somehow got stuck with the other cleaning supplies), I didn't put it there.
He says to me, "what is this black stuff in the Simple Green bottle???" He has sprayed it all over the stove and white ceramic tile counter tops. lol
Me thinking. Wow don't waste that I don't know where to get the crystals and I might not have a lot left.
Well I feel better now. I just found out it wasn't a Simple Green bottle, it was Spic and Span. I was wondering how I got an empty Simple Green bottle to use since I just bought the new ones. Glad I didn't get desperate for a bottle and empty Simple Green down the drain.
I love always learning.

My porch

I want to revamp my front porch. It has a lot of windows. Anyone have any suggestions? I think I want it to be white and prim. If you have any photo suggestions please leave me a link to check them out. I emptied it all out last weekend and now not sure what I want to do.
Thanks

What I learned today

If you are staining fabric, and you don't like the smell of coffee, you might want to watch it carefully as it is baking in the oven. Coffee stinks when burned. Even with two days outside, stillllllllllll stinks.
Weeding the garden in the rain might seem like a good idea at the time, but eventually you will be just a big ball of mud. The weeds however do pull out much easier.
If you watch Practical Magic for the 20th time it is still as good as the first time. My favorite movie.
If you are watching a movie such as Inglorious Bastards and all you see is the houses and the decor you may truly be a Prim Addict. The old water pump and table in the German house was pretty sweet.
I have also learned that eating watermelon without seeds is just like drinking fat free milk. It pretends to be watermelon but tastes like you are eating the rind. Besides what do you have to spit on the ground if it is seedless. lol kids.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that Monday is the beginning of a great week.
