A Very Sad Day

We went to the shelter about 6 years ago to get a short haired female kitten. We came home with the best long haired, male cat I have ever seen.

All spread out, lounging around. He fit into our family like he had been here forever. I love him. He wanted to be wherever everyone else was.
He thinks he is king. And he is probably right.
Well my heart is so sad, he died today. I don't even know what happened. He was running back and forth, I thought he was chasing a bug. I asked my husband to come and see what he was trying to get and he picked him up from under the chair and about 1 minute later he died. They become such a part of the family. They bring their own personality for sure. I don't even know how old he was. I just know that I am going to miss him terribly.

    I am so sorry about your loss. He was a beautiful cat. Loved the long hair. They are like a family member and when there gone it really hurts.

    Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your your sweet kitty! I know you are going to miss him. I'd say you need to make another trip to the animal shelter (when you feel like it...)!

    Oh Kat.. I am so sorry you lost your beloved Fur Baby..Seems many of us have lost our precious pets lately. Its one of the hardest loses. Bless you for giving him a loving home all this time so many never find loving homes. Maybe in time you can open your heart to another Kitty that needs you as much as you need him..Until then may your grief pass quickly...

    My heart goes out to you hun so sorry for your loss you do not realize how attached you are to your animal until they are gone I dont know what I will do when my lil Maggie Mae is gone she keeps me company while he works long hours and is such a lil trooper she even scares the coyotes away and only weighs in at 8 lbs but she has a mean bark!!     Oh girl...I so understand your loss. Six years or a day...when you love something or someone it doesn't matter how long you've loved them...just that you do.

    I hope you will honor your beloved kitty by one day giving another stray a home.
