What I have been up to lately

It has been a busy, crazy week. Yesterday we had some sun and it was beautiful.
I finished my pin keep and mailed it out. My swap partner was Amy at Cottage Prims.
I used the Prim Bird Pattern from Sassafras Hill primitives. I printed the pattern so that there were two sheets on each page so that the bird would be small enough for a pin keep. Worked great. I do that with a lot of patterns, especially if I want to try them out before committing to a large one. My first pin keep, I liked it so much I made one for myself.
I got this stuff after Christmas at Target. They had bags and bags of it for 10 cents a bag, clearance. So I bought a lot of them. I was thinking I could use it for something, not sure what. Well it is not really a blanket like batting, it is just a big bag of filling with a little bit of glitter in it. If you are stuffing it inside of something that doesn't really matter so I am now glad I bought so much. Keep a look out after Christmas next year because this is a seriously great buy I think.
Two of these heavy duty hangers, 2.99 at Mardens.

Took out the insides of one, hooked the chain through the edges of both to hold them together. Well I planted the bottom one with a viney plant. Hmmm can't remember the name, but it gets little white flowers on it haha. The plant will hopefully fill in the ball. First time doing it so we shall see. I made a smaller one as well as this one is really heavy and quite large. Probably about 16 in. diameter.

I made one of the tabletop displays that i saw in APP magazine.  I really like the fact that I can move everything all at once if I need the table for other things. For instance a big craft project that should be done in the craft room.

Well that is a few of the things I did recently. I have more on my camera but those will have to be later. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

The MAILMAN loves me again

I went to mail a package, and oh I got a package too. So excited. It was my package from Misi at 1890 Gable House. I had ordered her Silos and had got a prize for posting on the Tuesday display chain. Which still amazes me since we are posting pics and having fun.

Package arrived. That is my address if anyone has something they want to send to me. lol JK It wasn't open I did that at the post office. They were quite happy that it was the package I had been checking on for a month lol. I won't be driving them nuts anymore this week.
I open it there at the post office and the first thing I see is feathers. I screamed and jumped. I am thinking OMG what is this. Not even sure it is from Misi at the time. I almost peed my pants.  I am thinking to myself. It smells so good it can't be anything dead in there. And seriously it smells wonderful.
The inside contained some amazing treasures, all wrapped beautifully. Here is the Silos all wrapped with lavender and I am not sure what else it is but let me tell you it smells wonderful. (Thank goodness it wasn't a dead chicken)

These are also the awesome silhouette boxes she makes. I love them. Feathers attached. The round one is holding now the feathers that were floating on top of the box hehe. Still haven't unwrapped the silos though because the packaging is so cute and prim.

I slipped one out of the wrapping so you could see, and well of course I wanted to see as well. LOVE THEM. I am not the best photographer. I need to read my manual but the pics don't do these justice.
here everything is in the box without the scary feathers lol.

 THANK YOU MISI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love it all and it was so worth the wait.

My son

One time when my now 20 year old son was about 4 he was being all crabby. NAP TIME. We had one of those conversations that make you realize how kids learn and repeat.
Me: You need to get up on that sofa and take a nap.
Him: I am not tired.
Me: You need a nap.
Him: (sniffling while getting on the sofa) you're treating me like a Bit**
Me: (swat on the butt) Now say that again young man.
Him:(sniffling more) You're treating me like a Bit**
Me: Do you want another swat?
Him: No! you said to say it again.

So after a couple minutes I try to figure out where he heard that.
He meant "you are treating me like a dog" He had been watching the animal planet and evidently they use the real word when talking about female dogs. lol
Even today that memory makes me laugh.

I love my kid, it is amazing that I get a day of celebration for doing what I consider the best, most rewarding job I will ever do. And for MY mom she is amazing, a mother and daughter definitely become closer when the daughter becomes a mother.
